Endangering Welfare of a Child from Holtwood

State Police at Lancaster is investigating the death of a newborn child at the Ephrara Hospital. It was reported that actions by a mid-wife may have contributed to the death. The newborn’s parents failed to cooperate with a criminal investigation and the case was closed, according to a public information statement obtained by WNUZ. The incident was reported at 10:27 A.M. on January 15, 2026. The report indicates the deceased child’s parents are from the Susquehannock Drive section of Martic Township, Lancaster County.
