Will close Tuesday for paving, then reopen
Harrisburg, PA – Motorists in Dauphin County are advised westbound Union Deposit Road (Route 3020) is open for the holiday weekend in Susquehanna Township. Westbound Union Deposit Road was closed earlier this week between Hill Street and Eastern Drive due to a pipe failure that caused a sinkhole. Eastbound Union Deposit Road has remained open.
PennDOT county maintenance crews have repaired the pipe and placed subbase at this location. Weather permitting, crews are expected to return Tuesday, May 31, to pave the roadway. Westbound Union Deposit Road will be closed during daylight hours for this work.
A detour will be in place. Motorists traveling westbound on Union Deposit Road should take northbound Interstate 83 to westbound Route 22 to southbound Progress Avenue to Union Deposit Road.
Union Deposit Road will remain open to eastbound traffic. Access will be maintained to the shopping center located near the work site.
Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the area.
