Vehicle Accident In Work Zone On PA Turnpike In East Cocalico Township

This crash occurred on May 16, 2023 as Unit 1, 2022 Toyota Camry was traveling west on I-76 W in the right lane. At approximately 7:48 P.M., Unit 1 veered on to the right shoulder and struck the embankment on the right side of the roadway and overturned several times. The vehicle came to final rest facing north on the right shoulder still in contact with the embankment. Operator 1, Joseph W. Battisto, 60 of Flourtown, PA was transported to Reading Hospital for a suspected head injury. The vehicle was towed from the scene by H&S Towing and the driver was charged with 33091, Driving on roadways laned for traffic.
