U.S. 202 Lane Closures, U.S. 30 East Ramp Closure at Night Next Week for Construction in Chester County

King of Prussia, PA –  Travel restrictions will be in place at night next week for construction activities on northbound and southbound U.S. 202 and on the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Monday, September 16, through Friday, September 20, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and until 10:00 AM Saturday, September 21, periodic lane closures will be in place in either or both directions on U.S. 202 between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges for barrier removal, guiderail installation and line painting; and
  • Wednesday, September 18, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, the ramp from the eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed for overhead structure painting. Motorists will be directed to use to the U.S. 30 Business exit, turn right on Business U.S. 30 and right on the ramp to northbound U.S. 202.

The work is part of the final stage of PennDOT’s $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp, and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.

Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. The entire project is expected to finish this fall.
