...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of central Montgomery,
northeastern Chester and northwestern Delaware Counties through 315
PM EDT...
At 252 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Marshallton, or near West Chester, moving northeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
West Chester, Norristown, Phoenixville, West Norriton, East Norriton,
Westtown, Downingtown, Collegeville, Royersford, Trappe,
Schwenksville, Marshallton, Lionville-Marchwood, Valley Forge, Paoli,
Chester Springs, Lionville, King Of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting and
Radnor Township.
This includes the following highways...
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 313 and 333.
Northeast Extension near mile marker 21.
Interstate 76 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 327 and 330.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM EDT for
southeastern Pennsylvania.
