Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a pavement repair is planned for tomorrow (Friday) on Centerville Road at Marietta Avenue (Route 23) in E. Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Friday, October 3. Work will be in the southbound lane of Centerville Road approaching Marietta Avenue. There will be a lane restriction on Centerville Road between Bunny Drive and Marietta Avenue. Signals at the Centerville Road/Marietta Drive intersection will be placed on flash with flaggers directing traffic through the intersection.
There may be delays. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
Motorists are advised to use caution when driving through this area.
This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.
The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project.
