What is collective trauma? One example is the shared experience of the Great Depression of the 1930s. Another is COVID-19.The psychological effects of collective trauma can impact groups of people of any size, including entire countries and even generations. As with other trauma, it affects individuals and groups differently, and Chester County’s Department of Mental Health wants to ensure everyone has access to the resources available to them to help treat mental health and recovery needs during this time.
