A Lancaster man already serving a state-prison sentence for drug-dealing was recently convicted of sexually assaulting a woman at his home in 2016.
Manuel Pagan Jr. was convicted Friday, following a three-day trial, of two felonies and two misdemeanors.
Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick presented evidence that Pagan, 27, used force in sexually assaulting the woman at his East Andrew Street home on Nov. 29, 2016.
The victim, who knew Pagan as “Real Zona” – his musician title – testified, along with an eyewitness to the assault.
The jury deliberated about four hours before deciding the case Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Lancaster County Judge Donald Totaro, who presided over trial, will order sentence after a background check. That background check will include an assessment of Pagan’s consideration as a sexually violent predator.
The conviction will require Pagan to register his whereabouts, under Megan’s Law, for the rest of his life.
In a plea agreement from July 2017, Pagan admitted to possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and other drugs in exchange for a 2½ -to-5-year prison term.
Lancaster city police Detective Sgt. Jimmy Mummau, who filed charges, also testified.
In all, Pagan was convicted of aggravated indecent assault (by force), aggravated indecent assault (without consent), indecent assault (by force), and indecent assault (without consent).
