Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that line painting planned for tonight on Route 222 from Mohler Church Road to Col. Howard Boulevard in Lancaster County, has been rescheduled due to the forecast for rain.
Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 8:00 PM Monday, March 30, to 6:00 AM Tuesday, March 31. This will be a mobile operation that will require alternating lane closures in each direction of Route 222.
Motorists should be alert and watch for slow-moving construction vehicles.
This work is part of a pavement preservation project on Route 222 from Mohler Church Road to Col. Howard Boulevard.
Work includes bituminous resurfacing, full width milling, base repair, concrete patching, guide rail updates, line painting, and sign updates on Route 222 and constructing a new entrance to the northbound Route 222 weigh station between the Lancaster County line and the Adamstown/Knauers Exit in Brecknock Township, Berks County.
Remaining work on this project includes deck patching, line striping, raised pavement markers, and guide rail repairs.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $7,662,625 project.
