The National Weather Service in State College PA has issued a * Flood Advisory for… Northwestern Lancaster County in south central Pennsylvania… * Until 715 PM EDT. * At 605 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. The storms are over an area which received some heavy rain over the last 24 hours. Up to an inch and a half of rain has fallen since 5 PM near Bainbridge and Rheems. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. * Some locations that will experience flooding include… Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Manheim, East Petersburg, Salunga-Landisville, Maytown, Marietta, Rheems, Bainbridge, York Haven and Elizabethtown College. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.
