Fatal Crash; Pedestrian Struck New Years Eve in Salisbury Twp., Lancaster County

According to a PSP public information report obtained by WNUZ, on December 31, 2025 at 5:58 P.M. State Police at Lancaster were dispatched to Churchtown Road, just south of Mast Road in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, PA for the report of a single vehicle versus a pedestrian crash. While on scene, PSP reports that they determined that prior to the crash, Unit 1, a Dodge Caravan was traveling south via the southbound lane of Churchtown Road. Unit 2, a juvenile male riding a scooter, was traveling south via the southbound lane of Churchtown Road in front of Unit 1. The crash occurred as Unit 1 failed to travel past Unit 2 with caution. The crash occurred as Unit 1 struck unit 2 as Operator 1 was passing Unit 2 on the roadway. The inital impact occurred between unit 1’s one o’ clock position and unit 2’s six o’clock position. The inital impact caused Unit 2’s rider to be thrown off his scooter and land on the edge of the roadway on the right side of the southbound lane of Churchtown Road. After impact, Unit 1 came to a final rest facing south in the middle of Churchtown Road, partially straddling the condition where he succumbed to his injuries. According to State Police, Unit 1 was towed from the scene for further investigation. State Police report they’re still investigating the crash. State Police report they were assisted by Tower Direct EMS, Elverson EMS and Elverson Fire Department.
