Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a contractor is scheduled to begin an emergency project on the Hill Street (Route 4007) bridge spanning U.S. 30 in Mountville Borough, Lancaster County. The bridge’s facia beam was damaged in early June by a vehicle strike.

The Hill Street bridge will be closed on Monday, September 23, so the beam can be replaced. A long-term detour will be in effect during this work using Route 462 (Columbia Avenue), College Avenue (Route 3017), and Druid Hill Road (Route 4053).

Lane restrictions will be in effect nightly from 8 PM to 6 AM on U.S. 30 from Monday, September 23, through Thursday, September 26. A weekend closure will be in effect on US 30 beginning at 8 PM Friday, September 27, to 6 AM Monday, September 30. A detour will be in effect using Prospect Road, Columbia Avenue, and College Avenue.

There may be short-term single lanes closures on U.S. 30 during the week starting Monday, September 30.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of November.

Clearwater Construction Inc., of Mercer, PA is the prime contractor on this $541,000 project.
