On July 18, 2024 at 12:52 PM Troopers responded to Kitchen Kettle Village, Jam & Relish Kitchen, located at 3529 Old Philadelphia Pike, Leacock Township, Lancaster County, PA for the report of a theft by fraud. Through further investigation, it was determined that a White, non-Hispanic female approximately 72 years of age and a White, non-Hispanic female approximately 43 years of age were observed to be paying for jams and baked goods with two $50 counterfeit bills. A total of four $50 bills totaling $200 was reported. The investigation is ongoing.
State Police at Lancaster are asking for anyone with information to contact them after mail was reported stolen along Queen Road in Leacock Township on July 23, 2024 around 1:12 PM. The Pennsylvania State Police reported on July 28, 2024 at 1:33 PM they’re investigating a report involving possession and distribution of child pornography in the area of Ridge Road in Leacock Township, Lancaster County, PA. The investigation is ongoing. The victim identified as 17 of Gordonville.
In the commission of this crime, William Metzinger, 55 of Reading, PA was involved in a 1-vehicle crash as he traveled southbound on North Hollander Road. Metzinger failed to stop and turn at the posted stop sign posted for oncoming traffic onto Ridge Road. The 2007 BMW 5-Series operated by Metzinger continued through the cornfield before hitting a tree and suspected hole with it’s front right passenger side. The exact path of travel after entering the cornfield is unknown. After exiting the cornfield onto North Hollander Road, the vehicle came to a final rest in the berm located west of North Hollander Road, just south of a pole with house number 47 affixed. The arrestee displayed indicators of impairment and was subsequently taken into custody for DUI.
