Please use the WNUZ Reception Form, obtained through the ENGINEERING UNIT. Your reports are received and addressed by the Engineering Unit during operational hours. While we typically address most issues without the need for further communication with you, we may reach out to you. If we do, it will be specifically to address your reception report for clarification or to offer assistance. Additional service to you may be provided by WNUZ OPERATIONS UNIT.
WNUZ is a learning station, welcoming people with an interest in electrical engineering to participate in the many activities and duties to sustain and maintain WNUZ. If you, or someone you know may be interested in participating at WNUZ, please complete this form and we’ll be in touch.
2/28/26 – 3/2/26 The EU (Engineering Unit) has initiated a work order to make adjustments and fine tune processing equipment of which may cause temporary service disruption in order to complete work necessary. The EU will schedule any such activity to late, overnight hours to limit the number of potential listeners impacted. Because this work must be done in phases, for short periods it may need to be completed in phases for a couple nights. The EU welcomes your observations using this form.
Technology Upgrade: WNUZ is in the process of implementing a brand new multiband processing and radio data system. The RDS (Radio Data System) subcarrier operates at a fixed frequency of 57 kHz. This subcarrier is multiplexed into the baseband signal of an FM stereo broadcast, located as the third harmonic of the 19 kHz pilot tone. Because WNUZ typically operates in mono many of the typical signal reduction limitations associated with stereo and HD are not a concern for reception of WNUZ.
This process will not only improve the overall sound quality, but also provide on display hyperlocal info relevant to your commute, local or weather alerts, missing people or pets, evacuation or civil emergency info, school closings / schedule modifications and more. Thanks to your continued support WNUZ is able to make this timely upgrades, improving upon our commitment to Lancaster County and the Brandywine Valley. Thank You!
WNUZ is seeking students interested in participating in our Engineering Future program. Participants may receive school or college credit for their time while gaining hands on, real world experience at a real, licensed FM broadcast station. Touch base with us, let us know your availability and level of comfort and what types of projects or areas you feel you’d be good at. If you’re just interested, or a well informed student- everybody is welcome to participate at your community radio station. Please complete this form and we will be in touch.
