Both Drivers Charged Following January 28th Accident on Gap-Newport Pike

This crash occurred in Gap, Salisbury Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania as Keith Schettler, 24 of Shipshewana, Indiana; operating a 2026 Ford F250 Supercab was traveling southbound on Gap-Newport Pike (PA Route 41) in the left lane. Calvin W. Stoltzfus, 20 of Paradise, PA; operating a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee was also traveling southbound in the right lane. Schettler attempted to turn right from the left lane and cut-off Stoltzfus. The front left of Stoltzfus’ vehicle hit the front right of Schettler’s vehicle. Stoltzfus’s vehicle then continued off the roadway and struck a guide rail before coming to final rest in a bush off the roadway. Schettler’s vehicle sustained functional damage. Stoltzfus’ vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage. No injuries were observed or reported, according to state police. Schettler was charged with PA Vehicle Code 33091 “Driving on roadways laned for traffic – single”. Stoltzfus was charged with PA Vehicle Code 3361 “Driving At Safe Speed”.
