<\/i> Read Time:<\/span>1 Minute, 27 Second <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\t\t\t\tOn April 15, 2018, at approximately 11:01 PM, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of E. Liberty Street for a reported shooting. \u00a0 When the officers arrived, the located a 38 year-old female victim inside the residence, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. \u00a0 The victim was treated at the scene and then immediately transported by ambulance to a local hospital. \u00a0 The victim is currently in critical condition. \u00a0\u00a0 One of the 911 callers was a 25 year-old male neighbor, who reported that he accidentally fired his gun inside his home and that it went through the wall, striking the female victim next door.<\/p>\n
Officers immediately secured the scene and detectives were contacted. \u00a0 Investigators responded to the scene and conducted several interviews. \u00a0 Investigators are also processing the scene for evidence. \u00a0 Preliminarily, investigators have learned that the victim was laying in bed inside her residence when the shot was fired through the wall, striking her one time in the head. \u00a0 The victim’s family discovered that she had been shot and then summoned help. \u00a0 The neighbor who reported firing the shot met with investigators and is cooperating with the investigation. \u00a0 No charges have been filed at this time. \u00a0 The investigation is on-going and continuing.<\/p>\n
