Harrisburg, PA<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Governor Tom Wolf has ordered all United States and Commonwealth flags to fly at half-staff at the Capitol Complex and at all Commonwealth facilities in honor of United States Army Sergeant Jason Mitchell McClary of Export, PA.<\/p>\n\u201cSergeant McClary gave the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of his country and, for that, we will be forever grateful,\u201d Governor Wolf said. \u201cOn behalf of all Pennsylvanians, I share my deepest condolences with Jason\u2019s family, friends and fellow soldiers.\u201d<\/p>\n
McClary, 24, died on Sunday, December 2, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device in the Ghazni Province of Afghanistan. The serviceman was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.<\/p>\n
The US and Commonwealth flags will be lowered to half-staff until sunset on the date of Sgt. McClary\u2019s interment and will remain lowered until January 1, 2019 per previous flag order in honor of President George H.W. Bush. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.\t\t<\/p>\n
