Contractor to repair guiderail Monday on NB Centerville Road, an attenuator Tuesday on EB Route 30
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today there will be traffic restrictions next week at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.
Weather permitting, on Monday, March 4, traffic will be shifted on northbound Centerville Road approaching the ramp to eastbound Route 30 so guiderail repairs can be made. This work will be performed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Southbound Centerville Road traffic will not be impacted. However, flaggers will be on hand to assist truck traffic in making turns at the ramp. This could cause delays.
On Tuesday, March 5, a left lane restriction will be in place on eastbound Route 30 at the Centerville Road overpass so a median attenuator can be repaired. This work will be performed from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
Motorists should be alert, drive with caution and watch for slow-moving traffic.
This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.
The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
