An East Hempfield Township man will serve up to 10 years in prison for having lewd images of a teenage girl, then threatening to post the photos on Facebook when she stopped talking to him.

Raymond McClenaghan was caught trying to have lewd photos of a child printed at a local CVS store.

McClenaghan pleaded guilty to several offenses, including felony counts of possession and solicitation of child pornography and misdemeanor theft by extortion.

McClenaghan will serve 1½ to 10 years in prison, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart.

McClenaghan must abide by sex offender conditions during his parole period and register his whereabouts with police, under Megan’s Law, for 25 years.

McClenaghan, a maintenance worker at Root’s Country Market, obtained the photos from a girl who was working with him for her school community service project.

When the girl stopped communicating with him, he threatened to post the photos on Facebook.

CVS contacted police about the photos and did not provide prints to McClenaghan.

When police searched a search warrant at McClenaghan’s home on Graystone Road, McClenaghan tried to break his phone by throwing it on the floor. He was charged and pleaded to misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and tampering with evidence.

Police were able to recover data from the phone and found 12 images of the victim.

East Hempfield Township police Detective Matthew Pohle filed charges.
