A Lancaster County jury recently convicted a man of sexual abuse of a pre-teen girl between 2013 and 2017.
Rafael Saez, 33, was convicted of eight of the nine charges filed against him regarding abuse at a Lancaster city home.
The jury deliberated about seven hours before deciding the case on June 27, according to Assistant District Attorney Karen Mansfield, who won the conviction.
Lancaster County Judge Jeffery Wright, who presided over the trial, will order sentence after a background check and an evaluation of whether Saez will be deemed a “sexually violent predator.”
Seven of the eight charges are felonies. The jury returned a not-guilty verdict to a count of rape of a child.
Saez is being held at Lancaster County Prison on $750,000 bail.
Lancaster city police Detective Sgt. Jimmy Mummau filed charges.
