According to Parkesburg Borough Police Department,

“Police were called to a dog attack incident Wednesday afternoon, July 24th, along the 300 block of Strasburg Avenue.  Two family members (an 82 year old female and a 26 year old male) sustained serious injuries that include bites, cuts and a compound fractured arm.  The family was transported by ambulance to area hospitals as police attempted to contain the dog on the property.  After attempts to contain the dog failed, police were forced to put the dog down.  Agents from the Brandywine Valley SPCA were on scene and removed the dog for testing, if needed.  The victims said that the English Mastiff unexpectedly attacked them and another family dog.  The family’s second dog was removed from the scene by the SPCA for emergency treatment of its wounds.  The incident is still under investigation by the BVSPCA.”
