Harrisburg, PA — Today, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn announced that Ridley Creek State Park in Delaware County will be closed for 14 days, effective March 14, to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
This follows DCNR’s announcement of the closure of Montgomery County state parks, and the cancellation of state park and forest programs.
“As part of Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts, all of the parking lots and buildings at Ridley Creek State Park, including the park office and restrooms, will be closed, and all events and public educational programs are canceled,” Dunn said. “As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread, we want to assure our visitors that their health and safety is a primary concern.”
Dunn added that state park rangers and the park manager will continue to work to ensure security and public safety. They will advise any visitors on the property that the park is closed.
In state parks and forests that remain open, all public programs, events and trainings are canceled through April 30.
Pennsylvania has 121 state parks, and 20 forest districts.
