Whether it’s a back road country market, roadside store, grocery chain, vending machine or big box store price gouging is occurring in Pennsylvania amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Pennsylvania wants you to know, they’re on your side and ready to take action to protect consumers. No matter how small or big the retailer, if you’ve noticed major shifts in product pricing at a local store PA’s Attorney General wants to hear from you. The PA A.G.’s office can not do a single thing without you taking the time to properly report it.
Report price gouging to the Pennsylvania Attorney General by email pricegouging@attorneygeneral.gov.
-Complaints should include the name and location (or website) of the merchant
-The specific product and price
-Photos can be included and may help to support your claim
Complaints also can be made by phone at 800-441-2555, or through the attorney general’s website at attorneygeneral.gov/submit-a-complaint .

Editor’s Note: Websites with “.com” are typically associated with for profit corporations or individuals. “.gov” websites can only be issued to official government entities and individuals. Whenever you’re completing online forms on government websites, make sure – be certain to look for “https://” in the website’s address. Some newer browsers hide the “http://” and “https://” before the website address, because they’re common protocols on all devices now. You may have to click on the address bar and check for yourself. You can also look for a green padlock next to the website address bar, typically on the LEFT side of the address bar. This also indicates a secure connection to the website. If you do not see “https://” or a green padlock you are not on a secure website. This doesn’t always mean something is wrong or that you’re in any danger. This simply means you’re not protected should a perpetrator choose to do something unlawful. If you don’t know or really don’t want to proceed, I would recommend taking a screen shot with the web address in the frame and store the picture. Save the picture to another device just as a precaution. If you suspect malicious conduct please contact the government entity directly by phone.
