Lancaster, PA – Pennsylvania State Police, Troop J, Lancaster reminds the motoring public to
be safe during the summer travel months. During the summer months, many in the
Commonwealth will be traveling, and the State Police will be working with local police to help
maintain safety.

The summer travel period is a time for vacations and getaways, but it is also a time to exercise
caution on the roadways of the Commonwealth.

During this summer travel weekend, Troop J-Lancaster will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint
on a State designated highway located in Lancaster County. There will be additional Troopers
conducting patrol checks and enforcement on the roadways of Lancaster County during this
busy travel period. The Pennsylvania State Police reminds everyone to exercise an abundance
of caution while traveling over the summer vacation season.

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the work hours and traffic control for paving beginning tonight on Centerville Road at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, have changed. The work limits for paving will be from Columbia Avenue (Route 462) to the railroad tracks just south of Hempland Road.

Weather permitting, this work will be performed from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM tonight Wednesday, July 31, through Friday night, August 2. Work will continue during the same hours for the next two weeks, ending Friday, August 15.
During this time traffic will be restricted to a single lane in alternating directions. Flaggers will be on hand to assist traffic.
Delays are expected during this work, and motorists are urged to use caution when travelling through the work zone.
This work is part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project, which consists of structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.
The project includes work on Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23), and Marietta Avenue from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road. The project is primarily located in East Hempfield Township, though the section from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue is in Manor Township.
JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA is the prime contractor on this $36.3 million project. Work is expected to be completed by July 22, 2025.
