Brecknock Township, Lancaster County – PA State police report that a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta operated by Zane M. Hess, 20 of Denver, PA was charged with careless driving following a crash on June 20, 2022 at 12:37 AM in the 1600 Block of Dry Tavern Road (PA 897), Brecknock Township, Lancaster County, PA. Trooper Dohner reports that this crash occurred as Zane was traveling South on Dry Tavern Road, too fast for the left curve where Zane then lost control. Zane’s left rear end began to rotate clockwise in the middle of Dry Tavern Road. Zane’s Jetta then traveled off the right side of the roadway into the grass and impacted the residence at 1605 Dry Tavern Road with the left rear tire. After impact, the vehicle’s rear end rotated counter clockwise, coming to rest facing South. Zane sustained a head injury and was transported to Reading Hospital by Fivepointville EMS. Lancaster County collapse team and the Lancaster Hazmat team was requested to the scene to secure the residence. The Fivepointville Fire Company assisted on scene.
